Hawaii Jeweler Sells Only Pearls

Size October data comes from retail dealers who excel in the profile of sales of pearls. What better place to begin this month of blogging as a project of the Pearl Gallery in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, where Chris Brehaut store owner only sells pearl jewelry.

Brehaut does not create a business model, but definitely buy it, literally. In 1982, Brehaut started working with a local store specializing in pearls. Three years later, the owner wanted to sell the company owned by him or her time to raise a family. In 1985, Brehaut acquired the business and decided to put his own spin-only gems jewelry store.

The idea that the best way to come to shop became Brehaut in 1989, when he made his first trip to the purchase GemFair AGTA Tucson, Arizona One of the initial Brehaut challenges encountered when considering its position in its local market had been separated from his shop, not just retail jewelry stores, but many of the tourist shops that sold in February, jewelry, pearl jewelry, or affordable Made in Hong Kong.

"Then I realized the key was to separate myself as the competition was to provide a better quality of pearl jewelry designs while offering local and tourists will not find anywhere else," said Brehaut. "And I had to develop my place in the market."

After soaking in gemology books and reference materials purchased Brehaut colored stones, thought it best to complement the color varieties of pearls based screen the inherent qualities of natural iridescent stone.

Top Favorites Brehaut with tourmalines, garnets, and later, moon rocks. "Tourmaline gemstone species as there are many variations of pink and red to blue, green and blue-green," said Brehaut. "A variety of garnet and moonstones, all the colors on this day remain some of my favorite stones to work with my designs in jewelry making with beads."

The shopping trip resulted in dramatic changes in its business model. Instead of using outside contractors to fill his store displays, self-taught designer created his own jewelry. Today, 90 percent of pearls jewelry is sold Brehaut own designs. (The other 10 percent of pearl jewelry sold in his store is the jewel of entry-level price point that is not profitable for Brehaut to produce.)

Although Brehaut was planning to build a house, a part of his business, he began to invest in so many varieties of pearls, she could find, when he saves the target of all gems. These trips led to purchase rare and unusual gems back to the store, like beads on a significant dimension. Purchase of a large, fine beads of 15 mm and 17 mm to Brehaut niche is its state, then in the emerging business model. One of his favorite sources, a large South Sea pearls of Northern Australia, home Paspaley Pearls.

"By combining the larger sizes of fine pearls simple with rare and unusual gems have defined my business for many years," said Brehaut. "You will not find so many gem varieties and large beads in a shop everywhere: not on the islands and the mainland, "said Brehaut." I specialize in beads, jewelry stores even refer other customers to my store. "
